Modernize Patient Ward Phase 2 Pedestrian Bridge, Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta, Georgia $3,903,564.00 July 2009 Construct a new pedestrian bridge system to include an elevator/stair tower, a covered walkway (bridge) system from the elevator tower to the existing canopy system for the Veterans Business Administration building on the north side of Southern Lane and a covered walkway system from the elevator/stair tower westward to the entrance for the ambulatory care area of the main hospital.
Renovate Lab 159, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Athens, Georgia $76,681.00 July 17, 2008 The project consisted of demolition of existing casework, plumbing, gas piping, gas valves and electrical outlets located on casework counter tops.  Installed new plumbing, gas piping and electrical circuits to accommodate new casework, counter tops, faucets, gas valves and electrical outlets. Electrostatic painting (2) existing chemical fume hoods to remain, electrical raceways, doors and door frames, installed (2) snorkel hoods, inline exhaust fans and ductwork to connect to existing building exhaust system.
Replace Chillers Main Tower, Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta, Georgia $1,447,096.00 April 2007

This work included the demo of the existing chiller, the adding of concrete pads, moving of the chemical feeders, and the complete installation of two new chillers with the test and balancing of the units. 

Install New Pneumatic Tube, Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta, Georgia $503,333.00 October 2007 Installed a New Pneumatic Tube System within an active hospital. The project required extensive coordination with Medical Center personnel to minimize any impact caused by the movement of workman and material and minimize noise and dust.

Renovate 9th Floor PW, Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta, Georgia

2005 Reconstructed the floor architectural layout with new materials, equipment and finishes.  Work included demolition, asbestos abatement of the entire 9th floor wing.
 

Renovate Emergency Room, Department of Veterans Affairs, Bay Pines, Florida

$3,460,932.00 Start – 9/21/04 End – 5/2005 Completed renovation of existing Emergency Department, which included demolition and replacement of all walls, flooring, ceiling, electrical, HVAC and medical gas piping. The project required extensive coordination with Medical Center personnel to minimize any impact caused by the movement of workman and material and minimize noise and dust.
  Alpha Land Parking Lot, James A. Haley VA Medical Center, Tampa, Florida $1,888,955.00 Start – 6/12/09 End – 8/24/2009 The project consisted of constructing a completed parking lot.  Work included demolition and chain link fence, existing grade, removal of monitoring wells, guard shack foundation, sanitary manhole and piping, trees, asphalt, concrete & sanitary system.  New work included excavation for underground utilities and new elevation for base rock stabilization and paving, ornamental fencing, gates & access controls, concrete walks & guard shack pad, relocation of guard shack, electrical & lighting, sodding of green areas, video surveillance, emergency call system, paving, stripping and signage.
  Renovate Hanger #1 NAS, Department of the Navy, Atlanta, Georgia $1,400,000.00 Start – 11/14/04
End – 5/2005
The project involved the interior renovation of shop areas and offices in the existing airplane hanger.  The renovation work consisted of painting and installation of new acoustical ceilings, doors, and hardware.  The largest portion of the work was electrical and included installation of new switchgear, conduit, and conductors.  Also included was minor HVAC and Plumbing.
 

Relocation of the Vascular Lab, Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta, Georgia

A new second floor addition was constructed above an existing 2000 sq. ft. roof terrace.  The scope of work included new structural steel framing, steel deck system and a new insulated built-up modified bitumen roofing system, new interior metal framed and drywall system to subdivide the area into office and a minor procedures examination room, ceramic tile, vinyl flooring, carpeting, suspended lay-in acoustical ceiling system, new door assemblies, new electrical devices, lighting, fire alarm and fire suppression system, plumbing and HVAC ductwork.
  Pharmacy IV Solution Room (Phase 1, 2, 3 & 4), James A. Haley VA Medical Center, Tampa, Florida $1,091,686.00 Start -10/28/2007   End - 10/6/2009 This project consisted of demolition and renovation of the Pharmacy IV Solution room.  Renovation of the space was subdivided into three clean areas for laboratory testing, offices, and medication and supplies storage areas. The scope of work included, but not limited to selective demolition of walls, asbestos abatement, HVAC ductwork, acoustical ceiling and hard ceiling, adding new VCT and Sheet Vinyl flooring, new doors, frames and hardware, paint, sprinkler system to be accommodated to new offices layout and code compliance and upgrade electrical systems.
 

Training Building # 2 Renovation, Department of the Navy, Atlanta, Georgia

$737,014.00  Start – 10/30/2002 End – 8/1/ 2003 Interior & Exterior demolition of the training building #2. Replace inside finishes with new materials and layouts. All electrical rough-ins and wiring to be install new. This is a 4-phase project that included; renovate buildings, auditorium, canopies and storefronts.
  Construct Gun Shed Naval and Marine Corps, Department of the Navy, Atlanta, Georgia $522,340.00 Start – 5/29/2003 End –2/28/2004 Contractor to provide all the Labor and Material to install a steel building. These materials are to be pre-finished. Also, install roof panels and provide a 20 year warranty on the pre-assembled building panels and roof finishes.
  Repair Ramp Drainage, Building 1923, Department of the Army and Air Force, Atlanta, Georgia $284,922.85 Start – 3/17/2003 End – 6/23/2003 Contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, and necessary tools to repair drainage system at building 1923. Including all underground systems, site work, and sod repairs, if necessary.
  American Airlines Ticketing Lobby Expansion, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta, Georgia $250,000.00 Start – 8/18/2009 End – 12/30/2009

This projected consisted of demolition of existing 9 ft. walls and bulkhead, lay-in ceiling and supporting joist, floor tile, electrical fixtures, fire protection, re-rerouting of fire alarm conduit and
miscellaneous data wiring.  Removal of ticket counters millwork and scales.  New construction consisted of metal stud framed gypsum wall and bulkhead including finishing and painting, floor tile installation, ceiling construction with lighting and re-installation of American Airlines signage.

 

Key Lock Box Installation, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta, Georgia

$224,202.79 Start – 11/14/2008  End – 2/2009 Provide all equipment, materials and labor to furnish and install key lock boxes at various locations throughout the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.  The scope of work included protection of existing finishes, barricades for public protection, demolition of existing drywall, blocking added for support, drywall repairs, furnish and install 67 Knox boxes, wallpaper repairs, paint and clean up.
 

Interfaith Chapel Relocation, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta, Georgia

Start – 1/23/2009 End – 5/15/2009

The work included selective demolition, the removal and disposal of acoustical ceilings, drywall, carpet and wall base.  Electrical devices and HVAC return and supply diffusers were relocated to designated panel locations within the ceiling of the 3rd floor area.  New drywall framing, new gypsum walls, new door and frame, existing stained glass window relocated, existing storefront window replaced, frosting film, signage and new logos applied to the new storefront, new acoustical ceiling grid, new receptacles, switches, data boxes and fixtures.  The existing fire sprinkler heads were modified in height to match new ceiling layout.

BII designed the plan and specifications for CAU post office. This project was unique because during the demolition process, we uncovered asbestos pipe above the plaster ceiling, vinyl asbestos tile, mastic, and raw sewage backed up into the post office due to heavy rain.  Biosphere International’s environmental team performed this work in-house.
